First blog post in a few months, I guess you can’t call it a blog then but I hope I can pick it up again.
Summer has been good, back and forward between Sweden and Switzerland.
I just came back from Dublin where I was invited to be part of the Red Bull Illume unveiling ceremony.
For you that don’t know what Red Bull Illume is about it’s the biggest international photography competition in action and adventure sports.
I made it all the way to the final in the Illume category with an image of the new dad Sverre Liliequist that was shot in Engleberg.
I’m really stoked to be part of the gallery that will travel world wide and feel very privileged to be among all these great photographers.
The show was amazing and the quality of the 50 final images that are displayed in big light boxes is stunning. If you have the chance to check it out during the tour you will not get disappointed. Check out http://www.redbullillume.com where they will update the tour stops.

Haines has been very hard on us this year. Not necessarily the classic stuff like a lot of bad weather and high avalanche danger but more a mechanical issue with our sleds. We always had some problems previous years but this year it has come to the point that we think someone is joking with us and will pull out the Candid Camera and tell us all bad things was just a joke.
After every setback we fight back and try to get out in the mountains to do what we are here for.
Stephan and Jon have been able to get a few lines in and me and Ben has got some pretty good stuff after all. One mission has been to get out on the glaciers to build a snow cave and stay out there to get to the lines early and not have to go home every night.

I just came back to Haines again with Jon Larsson and Stephan Drake and it’s almost like coming home. It’s my 5th winter here and I love coming back every year.
So far we have been fighting against the classic AK weather. The forecast say rain and we wake up to sun and by the time we are on the mountain it’s grey again. The snow is great out there, we just need a bit more sun to get the shots. However we have had a few really fun days with the snowmobiles.

Sorry for the lack of posts. The Peak Performance shoot is almost done here in Canada.
Me and Jon are in Vancouver now and heading to Seattle tonight and then Haines tomorrow to jump on the next project.
I have had a great time with the Peak crew and got some really good stuff. We had 6 days at Backcountry Snowcats where we got great storm skiing and when it cleared up we jumped in the heli and got the best lines of the trip.
I just had a sushi feast and we kind of over did it, 52 pieces maki, 14 pieces salmon sashimi and 6 prawn tepmpura for 2 people.

We got a few days of really good sledding and skiing and the ticket was to stay up on the mountain to be able to get to the zones early and stay out until the sun set. Dave took me and Jon up to a cabin where we stayed for 2 nights. It’s a really cool place with space for 4-5 people right on the edge of the tree line.
Yesterday Henrik Windstedt and Seb Garhammer joined the team and we are heading up to another cabin for a few days to get more stuff for the Peak Performance campaign.

Here is a video from the first day of our Peak Performance shoot with Jon Larsson and Dave Treadway.
We did not shoot that much but got so see the area and have a lot of good stuff lined up for the next days.

I arrived to Vancouver a few days ago with Jon Larsson. We spent the night at his cousins place and watched the Olympic hockey final, pretty crazy how big hockey is over here.
The day after we went up to Pemberton where we are staying now. I’m here to shoot for Peak Performace next years campaign so their Canadian rider Dave Treadway is showing us the good stuff. Like every year I start my sled season hitting a tree. Last year I knocked my self out for a few seconds but this year it went better for me and the sled but unfortunately it did not go so well for the tree that had to be cut down.

Sorry for the lack of posts. In between shootings I went to Ispo for 2 days and met some clients for upcoming assignments and checked out some of my photos at the different booths.
Most of the time I hanged out with the guys from DPS Skis. They are pushing in to Europe now so swedish ripper Jon Larsson has started to work with them, I’m stoked to see that!
At the moment I’m hanging out in Engleberg with Jon and Johan Jonsson but the weather is not that good for shooting today. In 10 days I’m heading over to Canada to do a Peak Performance shoot with their team and I’m really looking forward to that.

We are in need of some snow here in Engelberg. Last week was ok but nothing great and now it’s just grey. It looks like there is something coming end of the week though so fingers crossed. I rode with my buddies Micke Brus and Spättan the other day waiting for my French “model” Patrick Vaugnat to show up so I snapped a few frames of them instead. I have also tuned and waxed my skis by the “tuning guru” Alain Frei, he has hooked me up with tons of stuff from KUU Wax

The Engelberg and AK ripper Bimba Bernasconi checkin out his new park board

It’s not too many blue bird days I can ski without my big heavy backpack but today was one. I called the local ripper Yves Husler and we headed up the mountain. There are a few runs you never do when you shoot because they are more or less in the shade all the time and one of them is Galtiberg. It’s a sweet 2000m vertical run starting from Titlis all the way down to the valley floor and today I did it for the first time in a year or two.

They follow Marja during the season and this time it ended up being during a lifestyle/hiking shoot we did with Marja, Johan and Tom-Oliver for The North Face. It was poor light and snow that day so we did not really end up with anything good but here is the still shot from when Marja turned on that small wind lip.

After leaving Engelberg behind with great images we decided to take a day in Disentis before heading to Italy. But when we found out that the snow was great here we ended up staying. I have two more days with Johan and Marja before I go back to Engelberg and we’re not sure if we should move to another resort. Today I got some really good stuff of the crew but the shot I’m most happy with is the one Johan took of me below. A very mellow pow run but still a shot of me.

Engelberg had really good snow in the beginning of the week so I got some good stuff of Johan and Sverre. Marja Persson and Tom-Oliver Hedvall joined me and Johan to shoot some stuff for The North Face. We are probably going to Italy tomorrow to get some fresh snow.

Yesterday was time to work a bit again. I joined Sverre Liliequist and Johan Jonsson in the morning and we had some warm up runs before the light turned good. The snow was still epic so we got some good stuff done.
Today it’s snowing again so time for some office work.
